Dr. George Maranon is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has served patients throughout Encino and the San Fernando Valley since 1993. He holds both dental and medical degrees and provides a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical care.

His areas of expertise include dental implant surgery, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology, facial pain, and treatment for traumatic facial injuries and fractures.

Education and Surgical Training

Dr. Maranon earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA before receiving his dental degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry.

After dental school, he completed advanced hospital-based training in surgery and anesthesia through an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Westchester Medical Center. He served as chief resident in 1991 and later earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1993.

Board Certification and Anesthesia Training

Dr. Maranon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Board certification reflects the successful completion of a rigorous evaluation process covering the knowledge, training, and experience required to practice oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Outside the Office

Dr. Maranon is married and has two sons and two grandchildren. Outside of oral surgery, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, dancing, bike riding, volunteering, and cooking.
